Where is the prompt stored?
Many AI image generators save the full recipe of an image inside the file: the prompt, the negative prompt, the model, the seed and the sampler settings. Stable Diffusion's web UI calls it "PNG info", and ComfyUI saves the whole workflow.
This tool reads that recipe so you can learn from an image you like or recreate it yourself. The image itself is never changed.

Questions and answers
How do I find the prompt of an AI image?
Drop the original image file into the box above. If the generator saved its prompt in the file, you'll see it with the model and settings in a few seconds.
Why is no prompt found?
Not every generator saves its prompt. Midjourney, ChatGPT and DALL·E don't. And images lose it when they are screenshotted, edited, converted or uploaded to social networks. Use the original file the generator produced.
Does it work with ComfyUI images?
Yes. ComfyUI saves its prompt and workflow in the PNG files it creates. We pull out the prompt text, the model and the number of nodes in the workflow. All metadata shows the full workflow.
Can this tell whether any image is AI-generated?
Only when the image says so. A saved prompt or a "made with AI" label is a clear sign, but an image without one may still be AI-made, because the details are easy to remove.
Is this the same as "PNG Info" in Stable Diffusion?
Yes, it reads the same text, and it also works for JPEG and WebP images and for other generators, without installing anything.
What happens to my file?
Your file is sent over an encrypted connection, read on our servers and deleted automatically after about 24 hours. The answer is kept on a page with its own link, so you can share it. Tool result pages are never listed in search engines.
