How AI images are labelled
Many AI tools now mark what they make. ChatGPT, Adobe Firefly and others add Content Credentials (C2PA) or the industry's "made with AI" tag. Stable Diffusion and ComfyUI save the whole prompt, and some apps simply write their name into the file.
This tool looks for all of those labels and shows you what it found. It reads the file's details, not its pixels, so it can confirm a label but can't prove an image is real.

Questions and answers
How can I check if an image is AI-generated?
Drop the image into the box above. We look for every label AI tools are known to leave and tell you what we found and where it was saved.
Does "No AI labels found" mean the image is real?
No. It only means the file carries no AI label. Labels are removed by screenshots, editing, social networks and messaging apps, and some generators never add them. Treat it as "no evidence either way" unless the photo also has its original camera details.
Can it detect Midjourney, ChatGPT or Gemini images?
When they carry their labels, yes. ChatGPT and DALL·E images include Content Credentials, and Firefly adds them too. Midjourney and Google's tools rely more on hidden watermarks in the pixels, which this tool can't see.
What are Content Credentials (C2PA)?
An open standard backed by Adobe, Microsoft, OpenAI, Google and camera makers. It attaches a signed record of how an image was made, including whether AI was used, to the file itself.
Can someone remove the AI label from an image?
Yes, quite easily: a screenshot or a re-save in many apps drops it. That's why a missing label never proves anything on its own.
What happens to my file?
Your file is sent over an encrypted connection, read on our servers and deleted automatically after about 24 hours. The answer is kept on a page with its own link, so you can share it. Tool result pages are never listed in search engines.
