What are Content Credentials?
Content Credentials (the C2PA standard) are a signed record attached to a file that says how it was made: captured by a camera, edited in an app or generated by AI. Adobe, OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, Leica, Sony and others add them.
This tool reads that record in plain words, so you can see where an image says it came from. To confirm the signature itself, open it in the official verifier.

Questions and answers
How do I check if an image has Content Credentials?
Drop it into the box above. If it carries Content Credentials, you'll see who signed them, how the content was made and what was done to it.
Does a ChatGPT image have Content Credentials?
Images made with ChatGPT and DALL·E include them, saying the image was generated by AI. Screenshots and re-saved copies lose them.
Do Content Credentials prove an image is real?
They prove what the signer recorded, if the signature checks out. They don't cover anything done after the file left the signed workflow, and a file without them could still be genuine.
Why doesn't this tool verify the signature?
Verifying needs the full C2PA checks against trusted certificate lists. The official verifier at contentcredentials.org does exactly that, and we link to it from every result.
Which cameras add Content Credentials?
A growing number, including models from Leica, Sony, Nikon and Canon, and Google's Pixel phones. Many need the feature turned on in their settings.
What happens to my file?
Your file is sent over an encrypted connection, read on our servers and deleted automatically after about 24 hours. The answer is kept on a page with its own link, so you can share it. Tool result pages are never listed in search engines.
