What's in a Fujifilm recipe?
Fujifilm cameras shape their JPEGs in the camera with film simulations such as Classic Chrome, Velvia or Acros, fine-tuned with grain, Color Chrome, tone curves and a white balance shift. The combination is called a recipe, and photographers share them widely.
Every original Fujifilm JPEG records its recipe. Drop one in to see it, or copy it to recreate the look on your own camera.
- Film simulation
- Grain and Color Chrome
- White balance shift
- Highlights and shadows
Questions and answers
How do I find the recipe of a Fujifilm photo?
Drop the original JPEG into the box above. You'll see the film simulation and every setting that shapes the look, with a button to copy the whole recipe.
Can I find the recipe of a photo from Instagram?
Usually not. Instagram and most social networks remove the camera's details. Ask the photographer for the original file, or check whether they shared the recipe.
Does it show Lightroom edits?
No. It shows what the camera did. Edits made later in Lightroom or another app aren't part of the camera's recipe.
Why are some settings missing?
Older models don't have every option. Grain size, Color Chrome FX Blue and Clarity, for example, only exist on newer cameras.
Does it work with RAF raw files?
Yes. RAF files record the same settings, even though a raw file can be developed differently later.
What happens to my file?
Your file is sent over an encrypted connection, read on our servers and deleted automatically after about 24 hours. The answer is kept on a page with its own link, so you can share it. Tool result pages are never listed in search engines.
