The JPEG hiding in every RAW file
When a camera saves a RAW file, it also tucks a JPEG inside it, usually full size or close to it. The camera uses it for its own screen, and photo apps show it while they work on the RAW data.
Getting it out is the fastest way to share or check a RAW photo without installing a converter. It shows exactly what the camera produced, with its picture style and lens corrections.

Questions and answers
How do I get the JPEG from a RAW file?
Drop the RAW file into the box above. The camera's embedded JPEG appears in a few seconds, with a button to download it.
Which RAW formats work?
Canon CR2 and CR3, Nikon NEF, Sony ARW, Adobe DNG, Fujifilm RAF, Olympus ORF, Panasonic RW2, Pentax PEF and most others.
Is the preview full resolution?
Usually yes for Canon, Nikon, Sony and Pentax. Some cameras, including many Fujifilm, Olympus and Panasonic models, store a smaller preview.
Is it the same as converting the RAW file?
No. It's the JPEG the camera made at the time, with the camera's settings. A RAW converter makes a new image from the sensor data, which you can edit more freely.
Who can see the preview?
You, as the person who uploaded the file, and signed-in users with the link. Anyone else sees that an image is there and is asked to sign in.
What happens to my file?
Your file is sent over an encrypted connection, read on our servers and deleted automatically after about 24 hours. The answer is kept on a page with its own link, so you can share it. Tool result pages are never listed in search engines.
